Special Characteristics

Maybe, most of us would like to know on how to detect those who are having this kind of diseases which are Down syndrome. We could identify them through few aspects which is from physical appearance because their face look alike each other means that each person with Down’s syndrome is affected differently but most of them share the same number of physical characteristics and developmental problems. The physical characteristics such as having a small nose and flat nasal bridge, they have a small mouth with a protruding tongue, their eyes that slant upwards and outwards, fat back of the head, instead of that, they have a big space between the first and second toe which is sort of sandal gap. From the hand, we could find that they have short fingers and their palm have only one crease across it. Hence, they have below average weight and length at birth.

It shows that the baby has the characteristics of having down syndrome.

This is where the chromosomes 21 occurs

Just look into their eyes, they have their own specialities.

Each person with down syndrome have their learning disability and delayed development because they are more slower than the normal kids in term of the skills that they need to improvise and learn.  Some of the skills that they need to learn is reaching where they need to be teaches how to reached things. Instead of teaching how to reach, they need to learn sitting, standing, walking and talking as they cannot do it and developed it by themselves. So this really shows that in terms of learning the basic somehow Down syndrome is slower to learn all that things. It takes more time to learn all these skills. Due to these problems, especially children who are Down syndrome require some extra help especially at school from teachers. While many children and adults with Down's syndrome have few other health problems, there are a number of conditions that occur more frequently in people with Down's syndrome. These include problems with the heart and bowel, difficulties with hearing and vision, and an increased risk of infections. For example, my sister is having hearing problem and eyes problem. At 6 years old, she needs to wear spectacles and until now she needs to do some medical check up on her eyes. Some cases, they are suffering with heart problems.
